At Lev Jewish Academy, our Physical Education program promotes healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth. Through engaging activities and age appropriate instruction, students develop strength, coordination, endurance, and confidence while learning the importance of sportsmanship, perseverance, and respect for others.
Students in every grade participate in physical education classes multiple times each week. Each class begins with warm ups and fitness activities that build cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and overall wellness before progressing to skill development, games, and team activities.
Throughout the year, students develop fundamental movement skills while participating in a wide variety of sports and recreational activities, including basketball, volleyball, soccer, kickball, fitness training, cooperative games, and other age appropriate activities. Lessons emphasize teamwork, communication, problem solving, and fair play while encouraging students to challenge themselves and support one another.
Beyond the school day, students have opportunities to expand their athletic interests through extracurricular sports programs and interscholastic competition. Middle School students may participate in track and other athletic offerings, while students in grades six through eight have the opportunity to represent Lev Jewish Academy in the Solomon Schechter Basketball League, building school spirit, leadership, and teamwork through competitive athletics.
At Lev Jewish Academy, we believe that physical education is an important part of educating the whole child. By promoting healthy habits, resilience, confidence, and cooperation, our program helps students develop the lifelong skills needed to lead active, balanced, and healthy lives.
