“You make a living by what you get, you get a life by what you give.”
– Winston Churchill
Providing an outstanding Modern Orthodox Jewish education to every child in our community has been a guiding principle of our school since its founding. Today, Lev Jewish Academy, formerly known as The Brandeis School and Brandeis Hebrew Academy, proudly continues that enduring commitment.
For more than five decades, Harry Laufer, former President and Chairman of the Board, was a devoted leader, generous philanthropist, and passionate advocate for Jewish education. Since 1979, the Laufer family has played an instrumental role in supporting our school through extraordinary dedication, volunteer leadership, and charitable giving, helping generations of students benefit from a rich and meaningful Jewish education.
On September 16, 2018, friends, family, alumni, and community members gathered to dedicate the Harry Laufer Educational Campus in recognition of Mr. Laufer’s unwavering commitment to our school and his steadfast belief in the importance of Jewish education. His legacy of generosity, leadership, and service continues to inspire our community and will impact future generations of students for years to come.
The Scholarship Fund reflects Mr. Laufer’s belief that every child should have the opportunity to receive an exceptional Jewish day school education. The fund provides tuition assistance to qualifying families, ensuring that financial circumstances do not stand in the way of a child’s opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive at Lev Jewish Academy.
We are grateful to our entire school community, including parents, grandparents, alumni, former parents, and friends, whose generosity helps sustain this important mission. Together, we ensure that the gift of Jewish education remains accessible to families today and for generations to come.
